I just got back from a weekend trip to Barcelona, and although it wasn't warm (at all), it was definitely a trip that I would recommend.
This past weekend, some friends and I visited Barcelona, and let me tell you it was COLD. I was expecting sun and 60 degree weather, but boy was I wrong. Luckily, I packed a scarf, some gloves, and an adorable hat made by our own Roni Halloran (which is an amazing idea for a holiday gift, by the way).

Since the trip was only two days in the city, it was hard to see everything that I wanted. The first night we got to the city, we went to Park Güell. We hiked to the very top of the summit and the view was absolutely incredible. Luckily, we got there right at sundown, which really paid off. After, we tried to head down to the main part of the park, but it was getting dark and really cold, so I got one good picture and left.

From there, we went to the Magic Fountains, which had show where the water was choreographed  to lights and music. It felt like something out a movie! We walked up the steps behind the fountain to the top of the Palau Nacional and could see all of the lights in Barcelona. Again, the view was surreal.

We fell asleep early that night, and ended up getting money stolen from us at our hostel, which was pretty rough. Regardless, we woke up and went to the La Rambla markets and ventured through the maze of the Barri Gotic. We hiked back to Park Güell where we spent most of the day.

Afterwards, we went on a tour of the Sagrada Familia cathedral. The entire trip was amazing beyond words, but the cathedral was the most awe-inspiring. The architecture made it look like there was a forest inside the church, and the facades on the outside were so meticulous it seems impossible that actual human beings made them.

All in all, Barcelona was the most amazing place I've been thus far, and I wish I could have spent more time there. I'll definitely be back there again at some point in my life. Hopefully it'll be warmer than 30 degrees next time...
Have you ever been to Spain? If so, how did you like it? I'd love to hear your stories!
